2 Questions:

1) I will probably be purchasing a Yamaha CS clarinet in the next month, so
I really appreciate people's comments about this instrument. I am currently
trying some Yamaha AE clarinets, and was wondering if anyone had any comments
or comparisons of the two, as well as comparisons to the rest of the clarinet
world. Almost all comments I've heard has been positive about the CS, although
the AE seems to have more resistance to airflow. Is there anything in
particular that someone dislikes about them? I have been playing on a Leblanc
LL, and the difference is phenomenal. Any and all comments would be helpful!

2) For my Junior recital, I will be playing "Lines" by Harry Freedman. The
solo has three movements and is unaccompanied. All I have is a biographical
sketch of Freedman, and I know it took a while to find a US publisher who
had a copy on hand (Freedman is Canadian, and seems to be well known in Canada
for a variety of compostions. *Does anyone have any information as to the
meaning behind the title, or the piece itself?* ANY insight would be great
at this point--style ideas, interpretations, but I am really curious as to why
the piece is called "Lines."

THANKS!
Vicki Schaffer
