I'd like to add a silly note also. I always enjoy my playing more when
there is a moderately competing sound (air conditioner, dehumidifier)
in the room. My idea is that, somehow, the competing sound robs the
(help me here) harshness from my clarinet sound. Certain restrictions
apply: if I'm especially happy with my setup that day, the competing noise
is not welcome. But often, "blocking" my sound on some days is just
the ticket!
