We're having a style argument among the members of our chamber music group.
I'd appreciate any advice/opinions the list might provide. Specifically:

Should the first theme of the first movement of Hindemith's "Kleine
Kammermusik" be played with a short eighth note followed by the two
sixteenths, or with the eighth note given full value. The difference, to
me, is between playing the first movement in a light, clipped "lustig" way
versus a more legato, lethargic style.
Any comments?
thanks,

George E. Landis
