Subj: Selmer Alto Sax Price?

I spotted an alto for sale in a hock shop over the weekend and went in
asking the price: it was a Selmer (I didn't get a chance to look at
the model) that looked to be in tip-top shape -- there was a
mouthpiece & reed on it, and it played quite easily and well --
especially considering that I hadn't picked up an alto in perhaps
fifteen years. The guy wants $550 which seems to me a steal -- I
don't think it's over ten years old, maybe closer to six or less.

Can anyone tell me more about the Selmer model saxes? Is this price
as good as I suspect? What are the different lines, and how can I
identify them?
