A couple of years ago one of the Doctoral Conducting students of Donald
Hunsberger did an arangement of the Mozart concerto for clarinet and 18th
cent. wind band. The group consisted of a couple of oboes, english horn, 2
flutes, clarinets, bass clarinet, contra (?), bassoons, and doubled brass.
The arangement was played by Kenneth Grant with the wind ensemble on the
Tour to Japan two years ago. I have personally heard it and think it is a
fantastic arrangement. Since then, the same person has also done the Mozart
oboe concerto, the Haydn Trumpet concerto and the vivaldi 2 trumpet concerto
for various faculty soloists and the wind ensemble.

Now.... how to get them. The person who did these arrangements is named
Robert Rumbelow. I am sure there are copies of these here at school in our
ensemble library. (I don't know if they loan stuff like this out though) I
believe Rob was revising this summer on our tour so that he could publish
it. Also, he just got a faculty position at some college in Georgia.
Unfortunately, I don't quite know where, but if you were to contact Dr.
Hunsberger here, I am sure he could point you in the right direction.

The address for Eastman is:

26 Gibbs St.
Rochester, NY 14604

Good luck!!!!

Ben Maas
