If clarinet pad savers are those fuzzy stick things that you place inside of
your clarinet while it is in the case, then I say don't do it!

I used them after I purched my first wood clarinet (Normandy 4- Leblanc).
The clarinet was not new, and it cracked!!!! Actually I didn't even know
what had happened, one day after band (I was in HS) I couldn't remove my
barrel from the top joint. The top joint had swelled and cracked. Let's
just say that I was a clueless person when it came to wood clarinets at that
point of my life. I had played on plastic before and the whole idea of
humidity, swelling, shrinkage was new to me!!

As for Rovner ligatures.... Try it out. Ligatures are a personal thing. I
have one, I love it... Other people on this list may say that they don't like
them.
