I've been teaching a high school student the bass clarinet. This is
her third year of playing(she started in the 7th grade). She has NEVER
played B-flat clarinet, and I am not much of a bass-clarinet player.
We got stuck with each other due to unusual circumstances. Here are my
QUESTIONS:

1. What would be considered a "normal" range for her at this point?
2. What specific exercises are used to expand her range well into the
altissimo register?(Having big problems above high D)
3. Do you have any literature
recommendations?-solo,etude,technique,chamber,orchestral
4. How would you say a bass-clarinet embouchure differs from/is the
same as a B-flat clarinet embouchure?
5. Is it possible to add an end-pin to an instrument? How much? How
long does it take?
6. That is all. Thanks a million!

Regards,

Starr Schaftel Wayne
