Hi there Bob, long time no see!!!! You were right on as far as your advice on
Military band auditions. The one reason there is seems to be lots of
sightreading is that few people have a clue as to the repertoire that will
be asked. I've heard that there used to be a bandsman excerpt book but I
have never seen it.

The US Army Field Band has 3-4 openings for qualified clarinetists. The Army
has a good deal going right now. The Student loan repayment program. In some
cases they've paid off $50,000 worth of student loans for a three yr.
enlistment. Salery of$25,360-28,690 annually (Military rank of Staff
Sergeant) and in our case, permanent assignment to Ft. Meade MD. If anyone is
