I'm answering as an outsider, as I am not even a member of CASS. However,
last weekend I was at a Clarinet Weekend tutored by Margaret Archibald and
David Campbell and a member of the course asked about "Clarinetwise".
Mike Bryant has already said that he does not think of Clarinetwise as a
threat, and this is also the impression I got when David answered the
question at the course. I think that the organisers are hoping that
Clarinetwise will attract more younger players (particularly the under 21s),
in a similar manner to Flutewise, which I gather has had success in this
area. Having said that, I think that anyone is welcome to join - it's not
intended to be exclusively for younger players!
Just my 0.02p worth, hoping that my recall and interpretation are right.
