Although this is a clarinet list, sax players may be reading also. Please

The United States Coast Guard Band has an immediate vacancy for alto
saxophone. Primary duties will include second alto in the concert band and
lead alto in jazz/commercial music. Auditions will take place at the Coast
Guard Academy in New London, CT in late October 1996. Preliminary tapes and
resumes are due prior to Oct. 4, 1996, and should demonstrate concert and
jazz/commercial playing. Improvisation is not required, but will be a plus.

The following audition music will be required:

"Concertino Da Camera" by Jaques Ibert
"Celebration" (1st alto) by Philip Sparke
"Sinfonietta" (1st alto) by Ingolf Dahl
"Aegean Festival Overture" (1st alto) by Andreas Markris
Jazz/Commercial arrangements will be sent to those invited to audition
Selected Sight Reading

All persons entering the Coast Guard Band are enlisted at the paygrade of
E-6, as Musician (Petty Officer) First Class. Starting salary between
$25,326-$28,136, full military benefits, 30 days anual vacation, pension
plan, and no recruit training. Maximum age at time of enlistment is 34.
Entrance into the Coast Guard Band requires meeting not only the necessary
musical standards but all standards required for entrance into the Coast
Guard including number of dependents and weight restrictions. Detailed
information concerning eligibility may be obtained from your nearest Coast
Guard recruiter.
