Bill,
Unless it is brand new, it is a complete rip-off. Marigaux is still
in business manufacturing Oboes and English Horns, among other things. In
fact, their English Horns are reputed to be the best in the world - even
better than Lorees! Their saxopones have always been excellent and they
used to produce a professional model clarinet - the 200. Chuck Levin's
has had a couple sitting around for 10 years and finally sold one to a
student of mine (I tried them-they are excellent horns - about equal to
the old Leblanc LX's but with the tuning problems more similar to
Buffets). My student got hers for $550. So $850 is completely out of
line for a used one.
