In reply to Dr Robert Spring's message regarding "GreenLine" clarinets,
I
would like to make mention that perhaps he misunderstood the intention
of
my original message.
I don't believe I made any "accusations" (a rather harsh way of putting
it?), I merely wished to instigate a discussion on how other players
found these instruments and what their ideas on them might be.
Furthermore, my comments were based upon my observations and contacts in
Paris (where incidentally I alternate with Australia as my home and have
lived and worked there for some years).
As pointed out, I found the difference between a GreenLine and a
conventional top of the range Buffet nominal and I certainly wouldn't
want to offend anyone playing on one, especially as I was considering
purchasing one myself and would be very happy if any of my own students
had one.
