I cannot resist adding that our cat definitely loves the piccolo. She will
jummp on my wife's shoulder when my wife is playing the piccolo, purr,
nuzzle it but certainly not with the intention of stopping it. She is also
more interested in my playing if I'm practising the Eb clarinet. The only
instrumental sound that really distresses her is the Indian shenai (on record)
