I had a cat that had to be shut out of the room when I practiced because she
kept trying to reach up into the bell when I played. If she was outside and
I played on the porch she would come up from the barn and again try to reach
the sound. The other cats and dogs I have had have never minded the sound of
the clarinet but they aren't keen on piccolos. Flutes are ok in the lower
register but really high notes make them slink around and then attack each
other. I don't understand it but I try not to upset them.
