This is my first posting since rejoining the list last week,
prompted by Benjamin Maas' need for Eastman-related
music...

While I don't know the vast library of clarinet music well
enough to make an intelligent suggestion (it's been over
20 years since I played my own senior recital, and I
haven't played seriously since then) (I played the Weber,
a movement of the Bernstein, an unaccompanied sonata
by Hardin-Simmons professor Andy Patterson, and a
movement of the Copland), I do remember that Eastman
and Rochester are the home of the Mangione brothers
(Gap and Chuck), and it might be fun to do something
that reflects the jazz idiom they employ.

BTW, personal side interest here...in December I will marry
a woman (flute & recorder player) who currently lives a
block from the Eastman school...our singer will be a
priest with a D.Mu. from Eastman...lots of fun...
