This reminds me of two guys in Texas who supposedly made a lot of money
selling a "100% Guaranteed Roach Killer." If you sent in your $5 and
ordered one, what you would get is two blocks of wood, with the following
instructions:

1. Place roach on one block of wood.
2. Smash it with the other block of wood.

This should be able to be modified to work for clarinet reeds, too! ;-)
