I just uploaded the Beethoven Trio in G Major (Wo O 37) for flute, piano and
Bb Clarinet (transcribed from bassoon) to my Web page.

Preparing this trio was a real joy after my experience with the Alexander
Quartet (my last entry). I suckered myself into doing the Alexander when
I found a manuscript from 1804 in "Case X" of the UC Berkeley library and I
had to work from a copy of a microfilm because it doesn't circulate except
I suppose to special people. After I had finished, it was very apparent why
there was no republication after 1804. In my opinion it is a very forgettable
quartet. The third movement is five variations on "God Save the King."
Give me a break! In any case, have fun with the Beethoven. In retrospect
I ought to have shifted the clarinet another octave higher in some phrases,
but once the .MUS file is your hands you folks can decide for yourselves.

Hey, did you all know that Krommer wrote 13 quartets for clarinet and strings.
That ought to keep me going for about a year!! 8-)

My Web Clarinet Music Page is, for the newcomers,
