Have to chime in as a Hopkins alumnus that they have one of the best
science schools in the country, especially biology and physics.
Plus you get to study with Fred.

Merlyn,
Despite the fact that I have a built-in bias, I have to
recommend the
Hopkins/Peabody combo. I'm sure you're quite familiar with the
Johns
Hopkins U. if you're interested in the sciences. Peabody
Conservatory is
a quasi-independent division of JHU and there are a fair number
of students
doing both JHU curricula and Peabody curricula, either as a
double major
or minoring in one. A former student of mine started out as a
double
major and decided she liked music more so now she is just
majoring in
clarinet. Some other schools which come to mind are: Carnegie
Mellon (sp?)
in Pittsburgh, U. of Maryland = College Park, Eastman/Rochster,
Harvard and MIT.
