Merlyn,
Despite the fact that I have a built-in bias, I have to recommend the
Hopkins/Peabody combo. I'm sure you're quite familiar with the Johns
Hopkins U. if you're interested in the sciences. Peabody Conservatory is
a quasi-independent division of JHU and there are a fair number of students
doing both JHU curricula and Peabody curricula, either as a double major
or minoring in one. A former student of mine started out as a double
major and decided she liked music more so now she is just majoring in
clarinet. Some other schools which come to mind are: Carnegie Mellon (sp?)
in Pittsburgh, U. of Maryland = College Park, Eastman/Rochster,
Harvard and MIT.
