I think when Jay Niepoetter and Lawrie Bloom played the Ponchielli
with the Wheaton Municipal Band, the arrangement came from either
the US Marine Band or the Navy Band.

BTW the CD I have of it on the ASV label is accompanied by piano.

PLEASE NOTE - I forgot to include this in my just sent response:
the Il Convegno was ORIGINALLY written for band accompaniment.
Ponchielli wrote the piece for two of his friends and conducted the
premier of the piece with the Cremona Municipal Band in 1868.
