What do you mean by high D#? Which one? The highest note I know the fingering
for is C4 and I've heard of D4 but never the D#4. Since i don't think there's
any notes above D4 i think you meant D#3. A good reed's the key! My teacher
always tells me that a clarinetist is only as good as his/her reeds. See, I
can easily get A4 and under out with a good Vandoren V-12 reed, best I can do
with a Rico Royal is G#4. For C4,B4, and Bb4 I would have to find an
EXCELLENT reed. Well some really good clarinet player like my City-Wide band
clarinet instructor, William Minnich can get C4 out with a Rico, not Rico
Royal reed. I saw him do it! As always, embouchure and the reedo!

P.S. To my knowledge there's no such thing as Altissima. It's ALTISSIMO!
