David Glazer was, for years, the clarinetist with the New York Woodwind
quintet, a position now held by Charlie Neidich.
His brother was a pianist but I believe he passed away. The two of them
recorded both Brahms sonatas.
I believe that a number of years ago, Glazer was principal in the Pittsburgh
Symphony.
When I saw him last, perhaps 30 years ago, he was not a young man even
then. If the information posthat he teaches at the Manhattan school
is correct, I am happy that he is alive.
