I seem to remember some discussion amongst the techs on this list regardng
adjusting the tuning using tape, nail varnish and such. Is this something
an amateur could attempt?

I assume that if a note and its corresponding 12th are both out in the same
direction you can do something with the tone hole immediately below it.
What happens if you find a note to be flat in one register and sharp in
another? Do you need to do something with the barrel to move the nodes
around? Does anyone know of any guidelines for doing this?
