Adding a little to this thread: The three works of Stanford for clarinet,
(viz., Three Intermezzi, Concerto, Sonata) were recently available from
Woodwind Service, Inc (1-800-527-6647) for $9.95, $20.00, and $19.95,
respectively. (This is from their 1994 catalog.) I happen to have
two extra copies of the Sonata that I'd be glad to sell. (Contact me
privately.) My copy of the Concerto is dated 1977 and is edited by
Pamela Weston. The performer does have 47 measures of rest for the switch
from B-flat to A clarinet. Pamela Weston writes, "Stanford dedicated it
Richard Muhlfeld, the clarinetist who inspired Brahms to write for the
instrument. When Muhlfeld did not play the work, Stanford, in
justifiable wrath, scratched out the dedication from his score."
