Hi... I've emailed Robert directly about the S-1, but I also want to
comment on two of your comments:

First: I bought a used S-1 in Boston about 3 years ago. I assume that
you could find others relatively easily.

Second: Mine is in pretty good tune, but it is a "Frenchified" instrument
(not to get into that here again :) with the F- serial number. It is
supposedly tuned to A@-----. I know this isn't
great information, but I know that I always have to pull out when I play
with my high school band (yes, I know most school bands tune flat...)

I am interested that you think the S-1s are so much better, because I've
always been told that they were about the same, just the S-1 was marketed
in Europe, while the R-13 was for America.
