Today marks the 341st anniversary of Johann Christoph Denner, the inventor
of the clarinet. Born at Leipzig this day 1655, he died at Nuernberg,
Bavaria April 20th, 1707. All clarinetists should probably drink a beer in
his memory -- but only _after_ practicing.
