Burch,

The closest example, to my knowledge, of a dixieland band playing
Klezmer-style music is the Jerusalem Jazz Band. The group, which is
configured in an approximation to a dixieland band, segues effortlessly
between standard dixieland tunes and horas, shers, and other conventional
Klezmer fare. They describe their sound as being ".....a result of
Israel's cultural mix of Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas..."

Very popular at American jazz festivals -- I've heard them twice
at the annual Sacramento Jazz Jubilees -- they call their style
"Dixie-Freilach."

If you are interested further (I have no idea whether any of
their stuff is published), please let me know, and I'll E-mail you a
contact for further information.
