You might want to consider the Hartt School of Music, University of
Hartford, CT. A fine school with some nationally know performers on the
facaulty including Gary Karr-bass; Moshe Paranov-piano, Jackie
McClean-alto sax, and the Emerson String Quartet.

Hartford is a great place for music. Both Hartford and nearby
Springfield, MA, have fine symphonies. Hartford is halfway between
Boston and NYC (about 2-1/2 hours to either).
