I am a college student (only 20) and have been diagnosed w/ CTS. It is
not just the clarinet who brings this on. I was a cashier for a local
supermarket, a computer programmer and beginning pianist all at the same
time. It seems to me that technology has a lot to do with it. Luckily
for me it is only in my right arm.
I personally only use a neckstrap when I play standing up. Other times I
rest it on my knee. The only problem is that it is very easy to drop the
horn.
I, however do not use a neckstrap for the Eb.

Respectfully yours,
Michelle
