Subj: Suggestions on what to play..
Date: Fri, 9 Aug 1996 04:52:12 -0400

I have been playing clarinet for a while now and have decided to sit LTCL
next year. I go to a teacher - and he's a really good teacher - but he
doesn't really tell me what to practise. When I get to my lesson, I play
whatever I've been practising and as I go he gives me suggestions to improve
etc.

At the moment I'm working on the Mozart concerto, a book of orchestral
extracts, and sort of on Brahms' 1st Sonata. In the past I've played the
Weber concertos, the other Brahms sonata, and individual movements of other
concertos for exams. I've also played the Weber concertino with an orchestra.

A friend of mine is also sitting LTCL next year, but her teacher has given
her a list of pieces she should be able to play, or "hve in her repetoir"
before she does this exam.

Does anybody have some suggestions?
thanks in advance

Linda Bakker
