I have an adjustable thumb rest on my Buffet RC Prestige A clarinet and
use
a BG rubber thumbrest pad on it, which is pretty comfortable. My Bb RC
Buffet came wiith the standard fixed thumb rest. I put a Bay thumb rest
on it (not difficult but requires a drill) and find it fine, but no
particular advantage over the Buffet adjustable and required some
surgery on the case to get the lower joint to fit in place. The Bay can
be bent in various ways to fit the anatomy of the player, but several
months trial has not convinced me of any marked advantage over the more
conventional Buffet adjustable that is standard on the Prestige and I
think also the Festival models.
