This work is in Schirmer book of clarinet masterworks for clarinet and piano
along with his Duo Concertante, Brahms Sonata 1 & 2, Schumann's fantasy
pieces (for both Bb and A clarinet) and Mendelssohn sonata. Probably
better value than buying the piece alone. It's great fun to play and not
particularly difficult. Variation 7 is a useful study in triplets with
the first of the 3 not played in a repeating pattern. It must be played
with the piano to make sure your timing is consistently correct.
They are also on our Music Exam Board sylabus here in Australia (grade 6
I think).
