Michiya...

I have never heard of this piece before, and I am intrigued by your
mentioning of it... what does it sound like? How does it compare to
other unaccompanied pieces?

The only ones I am "familiar" with are the Stravinsky three pieces and
the Abyss from Messaien's "Quartet from the end of time." Can you make
any comparisons?
