I want to make a gift to whatever University can use it of what is
probably the most expensive damn clarinet case ever made. I had it done
for me about 30 years ago and it was expensive even then.

First, it holds 3 full Boehm clarinets, one in A, one in B-flat and one in
E-flat. Then it holds 6 barrels and three mouthpieces. That is the
first level.

The second level is divided up into 20 or so compartments to hold things
like reeds, screw drivers, reed clippers, etc.

The third level was the music drawer. I had it sized to fit a peanut
butter and jelly sandwich so that I could take supper with me for late
gigs. It holds very large sheet music.

All three sections are covered in virgin doe skin (meaning it had never
been dyed prior to being dyed at my request), and the entire case is
covered in leather, though it has gotten scuffed up over the years.

It locks with two very expensive combination lever locks and is strong
enough to sit on. Fully loaded with clarinets and music and stuff, it
is about 20 pounds. It is roughly 10 inches high and 30x24 inches in widths.

I will only give this to a University (who must also pay for the
transportation) because I want to claim it as a tax credit and can
only do that if the donatee is a tax exempt institution. I would
require a letter indicating that this was a donation, and I'd like
some help in trying to figure out what the damn thing is worth.

Contact me personally. Remember that anyone who wants this must
assure me that you will pay for the shipping and make an estimate
of the worth of this most unique item.

But there are no strings beyond that.

If several offers come in fairly simultaneously, I will decide who
gets the item and that decision is mine to make, though I am open
to a romantic tale or two.
