Ed,

The usual solution is to thin the sliver key as much as is
necessary, and bend the key towards the ring a little.(Up or down
depending on which finger is hitting the key.) Continue until it
feels comfortable and it's still an easy fingering.

On Eb, I've actually cut the top sliver key off and thinned the
lower one to where it could hardly be reached, but could still be
used. I do have large fingers for an Eb Clarinetist. Of course, now
that I've been retired from the Navy for 6 years, _all_ of me is a
little large for an Eb Clarinetist!
