Talk about memories! When I was younger than I am now (just before WW II),
I played in a tiny band in Pendleton, Oregon (a blind pianist, a drummer, a
guitarist (my boss at the airfield) and me on clarinet). We didn't play the
Clarinet Polka, I'm afraid, but we played lots of schottisches and other
polkas for the very loyal dance crowd. A lot of fun. But a year ago all of
us clarinettists in the Murray (UT) Concert Band played it. Another lot of
fun. Long live the Clarinet Polka!
