I believe you are correct in your intuition that a B-flat clarinet
mouthpiece is unsuitable for a C clarinet and I also agree with
Fred Jacobowitz's assessment of the problem.

On this list are several excellent mouthpiece makers but one of them
has indicated in the past that he will make a m.p. for a C clarinet.
Contact Clark Fobes of San Francisco and if he is off the list
let me know. I live close by.

Other m.p. makers may also be of some help to you.

David Niethamer of Richmond, VA bought my C clarinet and had a new
mouthpiece made for it.
