Dan,

I have faced the same problem of parents hanging out in my house well I am
giving a lesson. It can be a problem, especially when they take over your
remote control from the kids :-) The wife certainly has to put up with too
many other inconveniences because of our profession.

I would like to stress one important point on the lesson subject (for
general consideration). With today's emphasis on good and bad touching,
child molestation (and suing) never be alone with a student. How many times
do you automatically adjusted a girl's hand position with out thinking about
it? Have you ever given a light push to a students stomach area to help
increase their support? These are only two things that could have gotten
you into trouble if your studio is totally private. I know of a few
instances where a teacher has done nothing wrong. Just the hint of wrong
doing ruins a reputation.

Best Regards,

Mike Moors
