Subj: Warmer vs brighter sound

At the risk of beating a dead parrot, here's my $0.02 worth: Mr. Bonade
and I agree on the wood not affecting sound. I tried a Buffet R13 and a
Leblanc Opus...used my reed and mouthpiece...and the Buffet had a brighter
sound, compared to the warmer, or darker, sound of the Leblanc. That also
varies with the reed. For example, Mitch Laurie reeds give a much brighter
sound than Glotins. And of course, as everyone has been noting in this
group, the mouthpiece and ligature have a little something to say too.
Like the man said...try them all and use the combination that does what
you're after. (Hey if it was easy, everyone could do it!)
