hello Jared,
I am curious what reed you use with your RM-10 mouthpiece. I played one
of these for awhile with Glotin 3 1/2 reeds, but have been happier with
the RM-15, which always work easily with V-12 #3's and are very tolerant
of other #3 reeds. The good things about the Morgan mouthpieces for me
are good tone, intonation and response with not very much effort (easier
to play for long periods), reed friendliness and secure strong clarion
and upper registers (no thinning of the altissimo notes like in so many
other mouthpieces). The shape of the beak also makes doubling from
saxophone easier.
I also like Charles Bay MM and Vandoren 5RV with Glotin Gaia #3 reeds
and Greg Smith 1+ with V-12 3 1/2 reeds.
I wonder of those who play Vandoren B45, how they have arrived at a
good result with these mouthpieces without having them refaced?
