The only advise that was ever given to me that worked was given to me
by my teacher at the time , Mitchell Lurie. He suggested that I try
to get the feeling of "up-chucking"(his word) into the clarinet, while
playing a top line F, and try to gliss it into the G one step higher.
Eventually, you will be able to do that. Then you start expanding your
range. F-G, F-A, E-F, E-G, E-A, etc. Good luck!
