I know you asked for music theory texts, but you might consider a theory
tutorial on a computer, if you have access to a computer. There are
several very good tutorial software packages. One that is used ofteh
is called Musica Practica. It is available in either Macintosh or PC
formats. Cheapest way to get it would be through a mail order computer
software catalog.

Don't know if this will help, but thought I'd send you some info just
in case!
