I recommend a programmed text, "Harmonic Materials in Tonal Music" by
Paul Harder (and a co-author whose name I can't remember right now - it
might be Charette), published by Allyn and Bacon. There are two
volumes. The book is designed for use by an individual rather than a
class setting. But still, someone to serve in the role of teacher, at
least to check up on your progress from time to time would be a benefit.
At least some of the editions of this book have included audio tapes for
practice in aural skills, and this is a very big advantage.
