In response to David Niethamer's kind words about my tuning exersizes, I
would like to make them available to anyone who wishes to have them. The
file is in Finale 3.5 format which I can send as an attached file to anyone
who wishes it. Please email me directly if you are interested.

David Niethamer's message:

While tuners are wonderful tools, it isn't particularly helpful to
distort your embouchure to make the needle (or LED light) center, and
then declare the result to be "in tune".

To do some useful exercises, get a tuner that will emit a sound, and
practice various intervals against the sounding note. Start with octaves
and unisons, then proceed to the other open intervals, 4ths and 5ths.
Major and minor thirds and sixths are a real challenge, and will teach
you an amazing amount of flexibility in placing notes in various keys.
The note "D" on the tune is one thing - as the third in a Bb triad, it's
something else again!

Tom Labadorf, of this list, has a wonderful tuning exercise which he
generously shared with me - quite instructive, even after years of
experience.
