Richard,
Check out the "Hite Artistic Studies Book 1" from the French School. It
contains the Rose 40 Studies book 1,2, the Rose 32 Etudes, and the Rose 9
Caprices. It is published by Southern Music, and costs under $10! That's a lot
of music for $10. I much prefer them to the Fischer (many incorrect markings)
edition. The artistic studies also have a glossary in them.

You might try a more traditional approach. Rose 32 Studies,
and Rose 40
Studies...both available through c. fischer. These are GREAT
etudes for
technique, articulation, style, phrasing, tone, etc..for pure
technique
you might try Klose (also C. fischer) Bellison editor,
scales,p. 123,
and scales in thirds, and the different arpeggio studies in
this same
section of this text. WHen scales and thirds are going well,
start on
the 20 studies in the same Klose book, p. 216????. From
another 60 year
old clarinet player. However, I have performed
professionallly, and
taught for many years....Try the above "prescription", and see
how it
goes. Drop me a line if I can be of further help. Mike Cavin
