Dan,
Legit means all but Jazz. This can refer to pit bands, jingles,
concert band, etc. as well as classical. I was not aware that "legit" was
a slight against Jazz music or musicians. After all, I consider myself a
practicianer of Jazz. It is simply a way of differentiating. I apologize
if you feel slighted by my use of this expression.
