Hi y'all, been a while since I has posted to this list (as
jayager@-----.

I have been a multi player since 7th grade, playing most keys of clarinet (my
fave and most proficient of any being bass), bassoon, oboe, saxes, and a
couple
(*blah*) brass types.

In response to comments of "ruining" embouchures, the only way to lose
ability on an instrument (as far as I have seen) is not to play it. As for
picking a double, I would say saxes are the closest, but the embouchures
there are more like bass and contrabass clarinets instead of Bb soprano.
plus, if you play recorder, sax fingerings are like a cross between clarinet
and recorder.

Of course you could fall in love with low clarinets like me... :)
