Jeroem I am interested in your opinion and comments of my 1958 "Centred
Tone" Selmer.
I was taking lessons from Stan Fetherstone(sp?) of the Toronto Symphony
orchestra and gave it to him to test and tell me how good it was. Surprise!
He said "Not bad, for a Selmer." I was qite disappointed cause I was
assured by Shelton-Sherwood store that selmer was best and other
literature I thot said so to. It is still going today but is scratched to
heck in the bore around the you know what. I used the same HSstar
mouthpiece also since 1958.
The longest I ever used a reed was from Aug 1978 to 1990-surely a worlds
record. It died like a nicad battery..quickly and I have never had a reed
since as good. It was a Rico 2.5 and very brown splotched. All my good
reeds were like that. It was like a death of a very old friend. Seriously.
Anyway, J, shoot from the hip about the Selmer will ya?

George T. Ayton
