Lifting the thumb, as suggested, is one way albeit out of tune and a bit out
of tone. (Dare I say "bright")

For trill, try this: fingering 'b' touch the A-flat key with your left hand
first finger. A little awkward, but it can be simplified if you rest your
bell on your knees and trill the A-flat key with your right hand provided you
have enough time afterwards to move it back to position! Okay, unorthodox, I
know. Forget I mentioned it!

Use the side c#. e.i. finger t-r c plus two right hand side trill keys.
This is okay for soft passages. The advantage is it avoids the break,
keeping the c# in the 3rd partial with the b and thus matching their tone
qualities. Careful with the pitch.

However, I find that using regular fingering for both with enough stength
(hence practice) to control the break is usually the safest.

That's all I can think of right now.
