I described Muhlfeld's Baermann system clarinets in the Clarinet magazine a
few years ago. They still survive in good condition in Meiningen, Germany.
They do have a wonderful sound which is really not adequately reproduced in
the recording by Keith Puddy that has been mentioned. In the USA there is a
set of similar instruments in the Shrine to Music museum in Vermillion,
South Dakota
